For the past few years, small SUVs have grown in popularity because they offer the same maneuverability as a car while having a larger cabin and cargo space. Of the models currently on the market, the Honda HR-V is one of the most popular. The compact crossover has good fuel economy, plenty of technology, and a comfortable driving experience, making it one enjoyable ride. What’s New for 2023 HR-V?
For the 2023 model year, the Honda HR-V receives a full redesign. Now the HR-V shares the same platform as the Honda Civic and the same 2.0-liter engine. Additional changes to this model include removing the second-row Magic Seat, which gave the HR-V more flexible cargo space. In exchange, however, the HR-V is larger, offering more leg and headroom.
Powering the new HR-V is a 2.0-liter 158-horsepower four-cylinder engine attached to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, although all-wheel drive is optional for all trims. The new engine is estimated to get around 26/32 miles per gallon, but with all-wheel drive equipped, this drops 25/30 mpg.
The redesigned interior for the Honda HR-V now has a more modern feel. All trims now feature a seven-or nine-inch touchscreen, and the EX-L trim comes with a wireless smartphone charging pad. Honda has also outfitted the HR-V with advanced driver-aids such as forward collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and multiple parking sensors to ensure your safety.
