Here at Honda of Mahwah, we want to make sure we're making a positive impact in the communities that we serve, where our employees live and raise their families. We're proud to be offering our support for the Marcus Kayal Legacy4Life Miles4Marcus event.
On Saturday, May 16, 2026, the annual l Miles4Marcus event will be held at Continental Soldiers Field in Mahwah. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by our Mahwah High School Boys and Girls Alumni Soccer game at 1 p.m. The event is a fun run/walk around the CSF track, along with music, concessions, a raffle, and activities for the kids, and is open to people of all ages and abilities.
Marcus Kayal tragically passed away on December 27, 2019, due to an undetected heart condition. He was a dedicated student, committed soccer player, and a loving individual to all. Marcus was a 16-year-old Junior at Mahwah High School. Soon after Marcus passed, his parents established a scholarship at MHS in his name, the Marcus Kayal Memorial Scholarship. Over the past 6 years, the fund has awarded numerous scholarships to deserving students who have modeled the same qualities as Marcus.
The Marcus Kayal Legacy4Life Foundation was also established to raise awareness about Sudden Cardiac Death (specifically in young individuals ages 12-22), to provide Cardiac Screening for students at Mahwah High School, and most importantly to keep Marcus' memory alive through cardiac screening events, which have helped detect some abnormalities for students who were then able to get the medical attention and care they needed.
Miles4Marcus helps raise the necessary resources to support all of the Legacy4Life missions, specifically the cardiac screening and purchasing of AED's.
